About Stoqlab

Last updated

Stoqlab is a supply-chain data service for mobile apps, operated by ARHAI LLC. It reads the app-ads.txt file behind App Store and Google Play apps, checks every line against the sellers.json of the network the line names, follows resellers up to four hops, and keeps every change to both files with its date.

Ad-ops, SSP, DSP and verification teams use it to answer questions that otherwise mean opening two files per app by hand: is this seller account still listed by its network, does the relationship in the publisher's file match the network's own record, and when did that change. The same data is in the web dashboard, the REST API and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants.

What we read, and how often

Three kinds of public files, nothing else: App Store and Google Play listings (found through the stores' sitemaps and public charts), the app-ads.txt on the developer website each listing names, and the sellers.json of every network those files mention. We have no SDK in any app, no device panel and no bidstream feed. As of 11 October 2026, Stoqlab tracks 2.3M+ live apps (2M+ iOS, 310k+ Android), has checked the app-ads.txt of 650k+ developer hosts (110k+ files found) and reads the sellers.json of 1,400+ networks.

Apps on a store chart, or with a million Google Play installs or 50,000 App Store ratings, have their app-ads.txt read every day. Apps that show ads or have an app-ads.txt are read weekly, the rest monthly, and a file that just changed is read again within 24 hours. A network's sellers.json is read daily when 20 or more app-ads.txt files name it, weekly otherwise. The methodology has the full schedule, including how store listings are refreshed.

What "verified" means here

A line is verified when the account ID it declares is listed in the named network's sellers.json, with a seller type that fits the declared relationship: a DIRECT line on a PUBLISHER account, a RESELLER line on an INTERMEDIARY account. Every other outcome has its own status (account not listed, type mismatch, confidential seller, no sellers.json to check against), defined on the methodology page with the same wording the dashboard uses. A verified line tells you a seller is authorised and identifiable. It says nothing about traffic quality or what was actually bought.

The crawler

Files are fetched by StoqlabBot, which names itself in its user agent, obeys robots.txt on every host and redirect, and sends a handful of requests per site. A site owner can opt out with two lines of robots.txt.

How to reach us

Access requests, sales questions and corrections all go through the contact form, and we answer by email. If a status on one of your apps or networks looks wrong, say which page and what you expected: usually the file changed after our last read and the next crawl fixes it. Security reports go to security@stoqlab.com (see Security), privacy requests to privacy@stoqlab.com.
